Whitcher's knack for storytelling is well matched by Lehman's brightly colored, cartoonlike illustrations. Each of her characters, reminiscent of Amy Schwartz's, bears a distinctive personality. This delightful combination of charmingly written text and endearing illustrations is destined to become a read-aloud favorite in many a household.
