Floyd Cooper received the Coretta Scott King Award for The Blacker the Berry, two Coretta Scott King Honors for Honey in Broomwheat Tea and I Have Heard of a Land, and an NAACP image award. About the Author:
Floyd Cooper (www.floydcooper.com) started drawing when he was three years old and has never stopped. He was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with a degree in fine arts from the University of Oklahoma. He is the award-winning illustrator of more than 60 books.
