From Library Journal:
Kraus presents a cholesterol reduction program designed to help individuals who want to lower their serum cholesterol level. She provides a brief discussion of the risk factors involved in the development of coronary heart disease. Two diets, Step-One and Step-Two, both recommended by the Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults, are described. Kraus provides 30 days of menus for the diet, during which time she says cholesterol levels should begin to decrease. A much more complete and informative source for this type of information is still Michael DeBakey and others' excellent Living Heart Diet ( LJ 1/85).
