How to Be Happier Day by Day - Hardcover

Epstein, cofounder of an introductions and relationship counseling service called True Partners, has compiled a witty, whimsical list of suggested activities for each day of the year. Some are thought-provoking and profound, others fun and frivolous; each allows the reader to see the mundane and familiar in a new way--the "mindfulness" that, Epstein claims, creates a happy life. Some of his proposals ask the reader to do something entirely out of character, such as "Don't wear your glasses or contacts" (Oct. 16) or "Make a fool of yourself" (Nov. 19). Some are downright silly ("Get dirty," Apr. 3), while some require a modicum of soul-searching ("Write down your dreams," March 19) or even a bit of risk ("Ask for a raise at work," Aug. 31). Whether the reader chooses to act on any of Epstein's suggestions, simply reading this delightful and childlike book should brighten one's day. Author tour.
