From School Library Journal:
Grade 5-9 With simplicity and clarity, School Smarts presents information on study skills that will be useful to those who are looking for help. The authors suggest ways to organize study space, acquaint students with simple filing methods using shoeboxes, and stress organization of time through the use of a time chart and calendar. The chapters about homework management and test taking are very good. More importantly, the chapter dealing with different learning styles offers practical alternatives for visual, auditory, and tactile learners in terms which they can understand. More suitable for younger readers than I Hate School (Crowell, 1987) by Claudine Wirth, School Smarts is an excellent companion volume to James and Barkin's How to Write a Great School Report (Lothrop, 1983). Cindy Darling Codell, Belmont Junior High School, Winchester, Ky.
