Kristy Apostolides is a young and idealistic dream seeker. Dominique Herman grew up in Cape Town (hence the occasional, supremely informative South African reference in the text) and came to take a bite out of the Big Apple in 1996 where she studied journalism at NYU. These days, to the NYC work ethic borne, Dominique is a film producer by day, freelance writer by night. Since she is now an expert on Southern England, Dominique would like her next assignment to be a Frances Mayes style set-up: basking in the Italian countryside (or French, for that matter-she's not fussy). Many thanks to her wonderful family who were supportive as always, and especially her brother, Adam, without whose guidance and assistance she would have definitely floundered in a sea of pasties and teacakes (not to mention his having saved her from massive backache by disposing of half of her bulging backpack before she set off).
