From Library Journal:
This book is based on a radio pro gram that Laski did for the BBC. Part biography, part historical travelogue, part criticism, it follows Kipling on his travels and considers his writing largely in terms of its setting. In form and content, the book resembles the Thames and Hudson/Scribner series, "The World of . . . " (which treats Carroll, Lear, Hardy, etc.), though its many illustrations are not so var ied or distinguished. The style is of ten chatty, and Laski quotes copious ly from Kipling's works. An effective introduction to Kipling.Charles Bishop, English Dept., Univ. of New Orleans
