The children and the animals all have distinct personalities. The animal information is accurate, but not preachy. In Oliver and the Runaway Alligator, Oliver tries to find its owner. Oliver's Back-Yard Circus is staged to save animals. In Oliver's High-Flying Adventure, Oliver babysits an aviary full of birds with hilarious results. Full-page black-and-white drawings scattered throughout add to the light-hearted chaos and break up the text. This is a wonderful series for those looking for easy-to-read, funny adventures.
