Richard Lederer has taught English at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, for twenty-seven years and holds a Ph.D. in linguistics. The most recent of his almost one thousand articles and books about language and literature is Anguished English: An Anthology of Accidental Assaults Upon Our Language (Wyrick & Company).
Dr. Lederer's weekly column, "Looking at Language," appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States. He is vice president of Spell (Society for thje Preservation of English Language and Literature), a regular contributor to Writing! and Verbatim, and a language commentator on New Hampsjire public radio.
