Van Cleave states the basic goal of the experiments, followed by a list of necessary materials, most of which can be found around the house or easily acquired with minimal cost. Step-by-step instructions are clearly detailed and accompanied by diagrams where needed. The results section states exactly what is expected to happen and the "Why?" section explains in accessible terms why those specific results were achieved.
