A breathtaking story of friendship and love set against the backdrop of twentieth-century Kenya Fourteen years after independence, the enduring childhood friendship of three women has carried them through times of violence and loss in Kenya, their chosen homeland. Hannah Olsen and her husband Lars own Langani Farm and Safari Lodge where they struggle to protect their wildlife and land from poachers and corrupt officials. But the developing relationship between their daughter and a young African boy with a terrifying legacy tests the strength of their family. Sarah Singh, wildlife researcher and renowned photographer, is married to an Indian journalist. However, their inability to have children puts Sarah's relationship with her husband and his family under increasing pressure. Camilla Broughton Smith, international model and fashion designer, has given up a dazzling career to work with the charismatic safari guide Anthony Chapman, who has been disabled in a tragic accident—yet his bitterness and fear of commitment threaten to shatter her dreams.

About the Author:
Barbara and Stephanie Keating grew up in Kenya. One sister now lives in France and the other in Dublin. Their first novel was the bestselling To My Daughter in France . . . This was followed by the acclaimed novels Blood Sisters and A Durable Fire, which, along with In Borrowed Light, make up the Langani Trilogy.
Review:
"An epic of blood feuds, murder, betrayal, love, loss, forgiveness and redemption, this is as atmospheric as sitting on a verandah with a gin and tonic, watching the African sunset. You'll feel a twinge of regret when there are no more pages to turn."  Times on A Durable Fire

"A tremendously accomplished, full-throated saga delivering romance, betrayal, murder and mayhem . . . the kind of book you have to read by torchlight under the bedclothes after lights out."  Daily Mail on Blood Sisters

"I enjoyed [In Borrowed Light] so much that I've bought the first two [books in the Langani series]." —The Historical Novels Review
