By 2005, Latinas will be the largest female minority group in the United States. Numbering over 25 million, one out of every five women in America will be Latina. Interviews with a Latina therapist, a Latina congresswoman and a Catholic priest provide examples and observations from a professional perspective.

About the Author:

Yasmin Davidds-Garrido holds a degree in Business from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in Women's Studies, specializing in Latina issues, which included study at Cambridge University in Great Britain. In 1989, she established a private practice counseling young Latinas. Ms. Davidds-Garrido serves on the Board of Directors for HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political Equality) and is a Director of the USC Mexican-American Alumni Association, which helps provide scholarships to Latino students. She is also a strong political activist for Latina issues at the state and national levels.
