About the Author:
Henry McCausland
I always wanted to be a drawerer which led to studying illustration at Central St Martins, which has led to working as a freelance illustrator and sometimes animator and comics author. I live on the Kent coast which is boring, but I am inspired by finding interesting things in boring landscapes. It’s good to use your imagination! I have a 4-year-old daughter, hanging around with her is also a constant source of wonder, as well as traveling by train, drawing eyes on things and the way plants grow out of everything.”
Nick Sheehy
Nick Sheehy is an Australian-born artist and illustrator living in the south-east of England. After studying bronze sculpture in the wilds of Tasmania, Nick gave up on art only to re-discover his love of drawing whilst living in London, sparked by an interest in the city’s low brow art, illustration, street art and graffiti.
In his work, Nick explores the dreamlike, sometimes semi-autobiographical scenes and oddball characters that echo from his childhood imagination. Employing a laborious technique, building up layers of texture and thin color, his work infuses precision and attention to detail with random abstraction and clumsiness. He enjoys drawing various weird things for himself, exhibitions, publications and occasionally the odd client.
Kyle Platts
I make humor comics that are based on current affairs, pop culture and my own personal experiences. The content can be a mix of satire and pure crudeness; observations form the basis of my comics, but those observations have been exaggerated for comedic effect.
Developing a character, and then placing that character in different scenarios is my favored approach. Physical comedy is also important to me, I like to make sure my characters are funny to look at from the get go."
