Book
Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 191pp. Book appears unread, with some light tanning of pages and a little shop dust at edges. Death is the most predictable thing that will happen to any of us and one of the few experiences we share with every other human being, yet we hardly give it a thought. Allegra Taylor decided she needed to face up to the fact of death, and the book is the story of her year spent working in a hospice and training to become part of London Lighthouse, a support network for people with AIDS. Anecdotal, warm and deeply honest, it shows that death is not the enemy; that it is possible to 'be there' for someone who is dying or bereaved, to grieve well in the face of death and, when the time comes, to die well ourselves. An important book.

First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. Although this ex-library copy has condition issues, it may still be of interest, since it is from the original printing. The binding is worn, and has been repaired with clear tape. Library stampings are few, but it was the practice of this library to emboss plates with a lacy stamping, to deter theft. No detail is lost via this stamping, which is placed in the upper right hand corner and affects one out of four windmill photos on any given plate, but you should assess your own tolerance for this sort of thing before ordering.; Ex-library.
