Sheet Music
Pamphlet. Condition: Good +. 15 p.: illustrations; 24 cm. Brown wrapper; wrapper title and illustration in dark brown and orange. Title page reads: Beethoven: The Story of a Little Boy Who Was Forced to Practice. The pages are neither stapled nor stitched in but loose within the wrapper as issued. Each page of text contains one or two spaces for cut-out illustrations to be glued in. The former owner did that very nicely, but did not fill in the space on the title page that would have told us who that child was. This is a nice bit of advertising by the music publisher Theodore Presser Co., which encouraged child musicians. In Good+ Condition: wrapper is lightly soiled; minor loss at upper corners of front and back wrapper; p. 14 slightly scraped where glue from the facing illustration touched it; pages are lightly soiled.

The grouping consists of one book for each of the following composers: Beethoven, Chopin, Grieg, Hadyn, Handel, Mozart, Wagner, Mendelssohn, Schubert, and Tschaikowsky [sic]. The booklets are personalized by the students who completed them. Ownership names are charmingly inscribed on the first page and written exercises are present throughout the booklet.
