Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The Walnut Trees of Altenburg by Andre Malraux, Hardcover, First UK Edition (1952). Book in very good condition, in a similar unclipped dust jacket. The book shows bumping and fading to the spine ends, and some ageing internally. The dust jacket shows general wear and ageing, including internally, with small nicks and losses to the extremities. Overall a very nice copy for a book of this age. (See pictures). The author Andre Malraux was one of the Resistance leaders in France during the Second World War. After the Armistice, he took an active part in politics and was Minister of Information in General De Gaulle's Second Ministry.
